OK all,

I've promised this for a while, and here it is:

First off, a technical glossary of terms used in this article:

Splice: Shave off the insulation from the loom wire, and attach the alarm wire to this bared core. Accurate definition is to link two wires together without breaking the original connection. Basically leaves you with a 'join' of two wires into one.

Cut: As it says on the tin, just snip the wire and bare the ends.

Bare the end: Strip off the plastic insulative wrapping around the end of the wire, leaving the core metal exposed. This can be done with wire strippers (easy so long as you set them right), or with a knife (but be more careful).

Secondly, a list of wires, and what colours on your loom they need to be attached to:

CYCLONE--------CBR125R
======--------=======
Red--------------Battery +
Black (2)--------Battery -
Yellow (2)-------Indicator + (Light Blue & Orange for Left & Right)
Brown-----------Key switch output (Black, best to put as close to ICU as possible though)
Blue-------------Yellow/Red running into starter relay.
Pink-------}-----Cut the Black/Yellow wire running to your coil and connect one
Grey------}------side to Pink, one to Grey. DO NOT re-join Black/Yellow to itself.

Thirdly, a guide on how to actually set it all up:

***Do not attempt this unless you are comfortable with soldering, and either have no warranty on your bike or are not bothered if you have no warranty - doing this work will void any warranty you /do/ currently have. This guide only covers the '04 to '07 carburettor based engines, as I don't currently have a wiring diagram for the injected models yet. Continue at your own risk - I accept no responsibility for any iSSueS arising from incorrect following of these instructions, or from incorrect information if Cyclone change their alarm systems***

1 ) Stick your control unit to the bike somewhere (I would recommend the inside of the frame, under the tank, on the right hand side, as it'll travel further when you pick up the bike, so enhance the sensitivity to motion, but will be protected from a flapping cover setting it off). Remove the fuse from the wiring and leave it somewhere safe.

2 ) If they don't already have ring terminals on them (I don't remember how Cyclone ship their alarms these days), then crimp ring terminals on the Red and Black wires. Attach these to your battery. At this point it's a good idea to ensure you don't have the speaker plugged into the system, otherwise in the next few steps you'll get a bit of a headache!

3 ) Splice the two Yellow wires into your indicator power feeds, leaving the feeds intact. This can be done at any point in the system, although I would recommend either the switchgear on the front, or the tail light unit area, as these places are where the indicator wiring is most focussed, leaving the least amount of extra cable routing to be done. Replace the fuse that you put in a safe place earlier.

4 ) Press your 'arm' button on the key fob. You should see your indicators all flash once.

5 ) Touch the brown wire against the battery's positive terminal (with the alarm still armed). You should see the indicators start to go mental, and might hear a clicking sound from the alarm. This is normal.

6 ) Remove the brown wire from the positive terminal, disarm the alarm, and remove the fuse again.

At this point, you have a very simple noise-making device if someone picks up your bike.

7 ) Find the Black wire which runs into your ICU. Splice the Brown wire from the C-11 loom into this Black wire, leaving the original wire intact.

8 ) Trace the wires down the left hand side of your frame towards your HT coil (or follow up from your spark plug's HT lead). At a point as close to the connector where your coil plugs in as you're happy to cut, cut the Black/Yellow wire that runs into this connector. Connect one side to the Pink wire and one to the Grey wire. DO NOT re-join the original Black/Yellow wire, as this makes the immobiliser useless.

9 ) Splice the Blue wire into the Yellow/Red wire running into your starter relay (again, do this loom-side if you can, to prevent you from needing to re-wire if you replace the relay).

10 ) Replace the fuse in your alarm system, and arm it. Then turn your key on, and you should see the same thing you saw when you tested before with the brown wire attached to your battery. Disarm the alarm, start your bike, and with your key still in there, press the 'arm' button on your key fob. This should cause the indicators to flash like mental again, and your engine to stop.

At this point it's a good idea to plug in the speaker and LED, and position them sensibly. It's also a VERY good idea to go back and insulate all of your joins using insulation tape. Any non-spliced joins can be insulated with heat shrink, but that requires a bit more skill and preparation.

Your alarm is then 'ready to roll' as it were.

***NOTE*** I haven't actually tested this myself yet, as I can't test until I get through my warranty period (February 2009). If someone would like to confirm that this all works for me then that would be great, alternatively, if someone would like to bring their CBR and an alarm down to me, I'll fit it for them and confirm my findings that way as well. To the best of my knowledge these details are accurate, and will be the way I wire in my alarm once I get one. If Cyclone have changed their wire colours, then if someone who has an alarm can let me know, I'll get this updated too.

Any questions, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to help you out.
