I bought a new battery for my mito, charged it up fully and put it in, rode it about 100 miles, thought everything was ok. Didnt ride my bike for a couple of weeks, and when i came back to it, after a few seconds trying to start the engine, the battery went flat, and starter wouldnt turn. I have charged the battery back up, and im getting about 13.5 Volts across the battery when the bike is started and revving at about 6-7K. This sounds about right so i dont think my reg/rec is knackered. There is no alarm on my bike, so what could have drained the battery, its just been sitting outside in the cold for 2 weeks

If you spend more time at low revs than high revs your battery will slowly discharge and need charging by a stand-alone charger.

ok, but what if u spend more time at no-revs? will it still discharge?

I guess this is a possible explanation, as i am running my engine in atm, so trying to keep below 8K revs for most of the time

A battery sat doing nothing will generally lose around 1% of its charge a day. If you have only got it at 30% charge and leave it for 14 days your down to around 16%, not a lot.
