right my bikes been off the road since december and 2day im finally insured and ive finished fixing it so its ready to ride and obviously i cant blody wait as i havent ridden for 5 months now! anyway, my new indicators havent arrived yet and i always thought it was illegal to ride without them, i have rear indicators, jst not front. my question is, will i get pulled over for not having front ones? 2bh it doesnt look like any are missing because ives fibreglassed over the old holes ready for my flush mount indis and its all been resprayed on the nose fairings.I found this site DSA and was wondering if having the wires for the indicators counts as having them installed.

basically jst wanna know if you reckon i should jst go ride the bike lol or def wait till i got my indicators.

cheers JAy

If you use arm signals, you'll be fine. If you don't, expect to be pulled.

From what is being said in that, its either all or no indicators

2.3 DIRECTION INDICATORS
Motor cycles are not required by law to be fitted with direction indicators, but if they are fitted the law requires them to be in good and efficient working order at all times when the machine is in use on the road. Indicators on some small capacity machines tend to dim when the machine is travelling slowly or is stationary. This is due to machine design and tests should not be terminated on this account.

I just don't like the idea of being arrested or killed. I have sense. Not stupidity. And that's what will make me a great biker. Don't get me wrong, I love the thrill of fast riding, cutting those corners that little bit too close and so on, but i'd rather do it in a way that won't land me in a wooden box in the ground.

Sorry, but I don't give my age out for all and sundry to know. All you need to know is that I'm about 10 years younger than I sound.

And on goes my hate for the law abiding, forum spamming "DJUnreal"

Your not that unreal you know.

And from the way you talk your probs about 18, but have parents as stiff as a piece of titanium with its molecular structure alterted to make it uber stiff - pretty stiff.

This reflects upon you being the most straight edge person alive.

I can't drink - toxins will reach my brain and poison me.

I can't speed - I will increase my chances of killing someone from 20% to 80%

Bah I could go on for a while

ON TOPIC - AFAIK you either have them and the appropriate switchgear all in full working order. Or have no indicators and no switchgear for indicators.

Which is exactly what I said further up the topic.

seems to me that a few of you are taking dj unreal the wrong way.it reads to me that he was only tring to offer the best advice he could, its not like the person didnt ask for advice!

we all take risks.its the chance we take riding bikes, we know the risks, and we still choose to do it.

if you want to ride your bike without indicators, do it.personally i find it difficult to see most bike indicators in daylight anyway, and look more at their road position and body language as to what they are going to do.

i have ridden without indicaters, and nothing bad happened to me, ever.

so, the long of the short.it is very unlikely that you will get pulled because you dont have indicaters, it is more likely to be something you will get booked for after they pull you, which will normally be for a small plate/loud zorst/eratic riding.

if you dont want someones opinion dont bother asking for it in future,or just ignore it
