HI ALL.IV JUST HAD MY TOP END RUBUILT AND I CANT GET IT TO START.I BROUGHT A CDI OF ROB AT MITO MONDO AND GOT IT THIS MORNING AND I STILL CANT GET IT TO START BUT IT HASNT BEEN RAN FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS.CAN ANYONE HELP

check you spark plug to c if its parking or not also make sure you elctic kill switch is on not off i had done that a few times

Drain out the old petrol, clean out your carb properly, put fresh petrol in it and bump start it.

HI IV TRYED CHANGING THE SPARK PLUG AND PUT NEW FUEL IN IT AND IT STILL WONT START.DO U THINK IT COULD BE THE INGNITION COIL WHERE THE SPARK PLUG CONNNETS

Have you tried putting the spark plug against the cylinder head and seeing if you have got a spark ?

Spark/Compression/Fuel/Air/Timing

You need all the above to get the engine to run.

Remove the plug, reconnect it to the HT lead, hold it on the cylinder whilst turning the engine over and you should see a spark.

Whilst plug is out do a compression test. If you haven't got a gauge, just confirm you have comp by trying to hold your thumb over the spark plug hole whilst turning over. It should blow your thumb away easily regardless of how hard you press.

Check fuel is fresh and getting to the carb.

Check air filter is clean.

Unlikely to be timing.

Prob spark problem - duff plug, cap, ht lead, coil - prob not CDI

Try the obvious first and reply with findings!
