How many of you ppl have cutted your black\white wire in the CDI and what difference does it make.I am thinking of cutting mine but is there really a difference u can feel ???

i have used to do about 70 now does about 100

There is a web site (link included) that has a bit of info on de-restricting, they call it declutching but it means the same thing. According to the info you need to mod the exhaust as well, but I have never done it so am unsure. Thax the reply. According to the website they say " several types of CDI were distributed according to the years. In general, only the model 1992 has the one which can be modified". So is it only the 1992 models that u can cut the black/white wires or do they mean from 1992 onwards

I think it jus means the 92 model only as there other's aparrently the other models upwards you could'ent do it to.

This is weird because my bike feels derestricted but my CDI number doesnt match any of the numbers that the guy has on his site. Iv mailed him for further details as well. but he also mentions the RG being capable of up to 175km/h which is pretty quick!
