Can anyone tell me if the clutch cable is any different on different year model bikes?
I ordered one for my 93 model but it is just too short, also the one on my bike has a curved section where it connects to the clutch handle where as the one I was given is just straight. The part number for the one I ordered is 800077777.

Hi !

This one should tell it all : "8000-77777". that aint at least for older mito's because it has numbers-7xxxxx.
Are you sure that your bike is '93 model (mk2) and not '90~92 mk1 ?

little bit confusing is the fact that old Mk2 Mito's do have almoust all parts listed as -7xxxx (starting with no: 7) but many parts are from mk1 with mk1 Part Numbers..

bye !

Hi !

You defenitely have got an offical Australian model, because that sort of metal label aint in all models..

Would be very lovely to have moro photos from your Mito, please ?

Basically the easyest way for you to identify your mito is to see if it has USD forks in it.
-Mk1 '90 naked Normal forks
-mk1 '91~92 full fairing Normal Forks
-mk2 '92~ USD forks

Cagiva made at least 2 different Mk2 Lawson Replica paint job's:
Here's 1 of them :

By looking a "Bikepics.com" found these, a lot of evidence..

Clutch cable's at Mk2's:

i don't think the cables are different between the 2...

there is simply a problem when you put it back on the bike....

the part that is screwed on the cylinder must be pushed with a screwdriver to fit the cable good ...i had the same problem ...it's just a setting problem....

Hi !

Maltoch quotes his opinion towards Mk1 and Mk2. about that their cables are the same.
EVO is the straight1 like Anand said.

If anyone wants to know. The part number for the '93 and below clutch cable is 800066166.
There was also a big difference in price.
800066166 @ $47.40 Aust.
800077777 @ $95 Aust.

Now if I can just get my bike started

Meh - universal clutch cable kit, includes 60" of cable and a variety of ends and rubber sheath - ?10 from me local bike shop. Trim to length, pass thru the current cable's curved section, solder the ends on via gas-stove and electrical solder. ALWAYS worked for me.
