Right, so here's the story:
Got a mechanic to take the old exhaust nuts off, as the exhaust was bolloxed, and I rounded the nuts off trying to get it off myself. Damn thing came off 100 miles from home, as he didn't screw them in to the proper tension and I guess they just worked loose.
So: refitting it myself, and it does not look right to me. The exhaust has a thin tube, then a wider bit a bit behind it. The thin bit goes in the exhaust port, then the wider bit I think should slot into a slightly indented bit in the port, which takes the gasket. The problem is that the wide part of the exhaust end doesn't fit into the indent in the port. Nor does the gasket. And the entire thing is about 5 degrees off. Hence it's blowing a bit.
Have I understood how it should be fitting properly anyone know? And if so, any good suggestions how to sort it/bodge it? It's not blowing as in making the reedy noise you get when it's really bad, but it doesn't help the compression, and my power band is up in the stratosphere because of it.
Cheers if you can help.
