Hiya all, iv hardly been on this forum but thats partly because of the good reliability of honda

anyway i have several scratched fairings on my bike, iv had this since i got it.
iv finally bit the bullet and ordered a repair kit. and i want to give it a good paint job.
if i can i would keep my current design.

BUT i dont know which red i have to get at halfords....

but im having thoughts about a totally new colour.. im thinking MATT SILVER with chrome black arrow things. and black NSR stickers. what do you think?

Also where can i get clock surrounds for the NSR 2001 reg?

just read that and i think i have the same problem... is it easy to replace gasket my self?
iv never got in to the engine on the nsr...also the engines done 20000 miles and i dont know when it had a rebuild... and i want to replace the piston etc my self.. is it easy?

what do you want a carbon fibre clock surround or just the foam that goes round the clocks??

the carbon stuff. its just foam at the moment.

yeah i want rim tape too.

i want the barrel and piston. my engines done 20,000miles and i didnt get a full service history.. either way i need a new barrel.

does the barrel and piston come with piston rings?
and which one in there is the fin plate thing in the first pic?

Anyway as i thought its time i change the barrel of my bike, i ordered a new one

But the head gasket i also ordered doesnt seem to fit the holes for the coolant. it fits the 6 bots fine though.

is this right?

A small update about my bike,

just repainted the main fairings, The tank will be done tomorrow. and the guy on my bike is a good friend. he helped me pretty much through out.

o yeah and i think my rear brakes are cheesed.. its constantly scraping, how much to get it sorted?

you should do now 2 lays of varnish shiny or matt , this will protect your paint .

the barrell and piston you have mate? your on about the gasket not fitting over the watercollent bit, its ment to fit on like that mate, ive fitted about 3 to my old nsr and thats exactly right just make sure the piston is facing the right way when you put it in. also where did you get that barrell and piston from? i use to get mine from www.davidsilverspares.co.uk and it cost me 85 for that and 25 for the cylinder head.

i was always told to buy a load and flog them on for more lol, did you get yours from there?

if not mate how much did you pay?

Same place for the same price mate. didnt bother with a new cyllinder head for now.. just piston an cyllinder replacement.
