They're not restricted.
you can fit power bands to it and get an extra 5-10bhp should be able to do 85-90 with your head down
I thought it was restricted and if it isnt do you know of how i could get more speed out of the bike

You cant unless you put a bigger engine in it
Exhaust = Less powerz
Bigger carb = Pointless as it will go same slow speed
Or could put a big bore kit on it...

Or Go faster stripes for 10bhp

Orite so how much would a power band cost me and sounds stupid but know of anywhere i can get one from
Im a distributer for the powerbands, £30 a set, shud make it do about 90mph.

You'll have to buy a converter from 4 stroke to 2 stroke in able to fit rainbow powerbands and add power.
They're not restricted.

The engine will be designed to be reliable at the power level it outputs as standard.

You could spend thousands making it have 1 or 2 more bhp and hardly notice any gain. A kid on here spent £4000 (or something stupid like that) on performance mods on a Yamaha R125 and it made 16bhp on the dyno (i believe it was 16bhp)

It wont ever do 100mph or whatever with that engine, its designed for reliability and economy.

It wont realistically exceed 80mph on a VERY good day.

Want more speed? buy a 2-stroke 125 or get a bigger engined bike.

Simples.

Ignore the above poster, he is incorrect.

I can definitely recommend Cols powerband pack, I chose a mix of black and red because I wanted to increase torque as well as top end power but you could fit two reds if you just want an increase in the top end.

They let your engine rev 3,000rpm higher in each gear which in 6th equates to an extra 20mph or so.

Some people will recommend carbon powerbands, which are more for track bikes as they do give you a massive power increase but make the bike unstable at over 95mph. You'll definitely need a steering damper and a 180 section rear tyre fitted if you're going to go for carbon ones.
Chadz you just like doing wheelies so no point him getting pink ones. As Jedi tbh buy them from Col
get collywogs powerbands... they worked on my 125!

£30?! f*ck sake. I paid almost double that for mine. Still, they were more than worth the money!
I found some powerbands at Halfords for my son's YBR125. I asked the man at the parts desk and he had some out back, added about 20mph to the top end, fantastic!
you lot are a bunch of b*st*rds!!

Why the f*ck tell him such crap??

Right...
-chadz cant f**king wheelie, he can barely ride a bike
-col usually sells his packs for £25 so hes trying to scam a new member
-Carbon bands are useless on any bike, they snap too easily so are a waste of money.
-never buy them from halfords, they are generic and will more likely cause damage to the capcitation module after being on for about 3-4 weeks.
-jedi is exaggerating, you should see around a 20% complete power gain on a good setup set of bands, and you wont need a f**king 180 tyre, a 160 would be ok.
-yellow blackbird states £4000 spent, it was £40, the guy never listened to us, followed some advice from an inferior forum and bought halfords powerbands (see above).
-Osset says you need the 4-2 stroke converter, but again only if you need the rainbow bands, go for a gentle start, dont wasted too much money.

that covers it i think, any more questions dont hesitate to ask.

I said he needs a 180 section rear tyre if he went for carbon bands, 160 will be fine for red or black bands.

Sorry for the confusion, hope I didn't confuse the OP too much.
