there are no new products produced. the "recepie" is still the same. first what we need to help you is that you write down the cylinder and piston head you have.

Hi Remy!

Thank you for responding back to my post.

both of my Mito is stamped with the following :
279B on bottom
73037 on the sides near the reed cages section
and 200H on the top head also near the 200H stamp there's a number 3 and on the other one an 8 on it.

That is a good setup to start with.

The best power mods imho are:

A good carburetor (make sure to purchase a brand new one to avoid any problems and chasing your tail):
  • either the oem mikuni TM 35 (not my preference),
  • VHSB34LD dellorto or
  • Keihin pwk36,
thought be warned, its almost impossible to find a manifold that fits the dellorto or keihin. As is the oem 35mm. all has to be custom made as the ones on internet are BAD!

A good exhaust like jolly moto corsa, imho, they are the best out, and I prefer them to arrow etc.

For reed cage I prefer just CF boyesen on oem reed cage.
boyesen racing reed petals . non affiliate link just as an example

and a bunny ears airbox lid with a normal or dual density sponge (like polini)

and if you're up to it, taking of the cylinder, freshen up the piston (get a mitaka piston, they are high quality, wouldn't say any worse than the wosner, wiseco or vertex, better than Prox). a flat top but keep it 2 piston rings.

I have the Mikuni 35mm on two of my mito the previous owner have put them on and made some changes on their jettings too, but I may also rejet them to some 2 stroke dyno/mechanic experts whom will be the one rebuilding and tuning my two mito. I'll also be choosing to go for a custom fabricate of a better manifold since the stocks are quite brittle and may ended up getting a custom made chamber pipes locally to someone whom have been making chambers pipes for the last 30+ years.

so putting a boyesen is much better than buying a vforce 4 reed instead?

where can I find a bunny type airbox or the polini double sponge type?

since my cylinder are still "Okay" been seeing only the mitaka dome top with 2 rings and also flat top with 1 ring only instead of what you have suggested of 2 rings flat tops
With 200H you can only use flat top. 1 ring is also ok but than make sure to replace every 6-7000km (piston 12-15).

Bunny ear is difficult to find. Have a look at ebay etc (will quickly do also ans post a link if I find one).

On the pipe. Someone could have been building for 30 years that doesn't mean he will make the best there is for this bike. That has already been designed in 1995 and none were better (and many have tried) and that is the original SP exhaust system. Jolly moto corsa is a direct copy of it. Measurements are on the interwebs and the best one you could make would be that. Cagiva had the strongest engine in Moto GP and SP racing untill they pulled back from racing (after being forced to purchase Ducati by italian government and create the 916 using already finished design of the mito Evo)

Carb, get the tune after all has been set up. Its smart to do if you have someone local doing that. I hate that part of the job.

edit:
re reed valve, yes v-force is bad. they break easily and don't provide actual power, just different "feel" , look here for inspiration The-Never-Ending-Saga

been looking to ebay for the bunny ears but no luck, will still keep on looking for it thought. thanks for the help!!

I will try the local chamber maker first as they have made a lot of chambers pipes for mainly for 2 strokes and big bikes both for track,mx and drag since they have the tools, expertise and stuff to cater the needs to get the best possible performance possible if all things lost I might just ended up buying the one you have suggested.
I can give you the domensions of the SP one. At least to have a startong point.

please do that will be a great idea to tackle with as the pipe manufacturer can produce neither an SS or a Titanium one for my two mito.

thank you for this photo, this can help further develop my own custom made pipe 🤘🤘🤘

Hi, let me ask you, is the Mito a difficult bike to maintain? I read the thread, here it says that some things have to be custom made.
What is the easiest sportbike you would recommend to someone looking to buy their first bike?

There are some few parts that can be custom made if I reckon not that much of a big problem.

working on my mito as I am out of tune with it since the last mito I have was like 6 years ago so trying to refresh my ideas out on rebuilding my new two set of mito.

engine parts can be sourced just find yourself a good trustable mechanic if you aren't that knowledgeable with the engine itself.

I don't know anything about engines. I would like something easier, so I don't have to dig around :)

better find someone who know what they are doing and not someone whose trying to know things and ripping you off.
Mito is not a bike for a non mechanical oriented person or with a very good relationship with a good mechanic.

The mito despite being superior i performanse to an aprilia Rs125 in SP championship lost because it was much more involved for maintenance between races than the rotax in rs..

For me its wort every minute of maintenance for the joy of riding.

Thank you! I realized that the Mito requires mechanic experience or a good mechanic acquaintance.
