Hi People
I've got a DTR 200 (SAME AS THE 125R, just bigger piston and dif barrel & rod)
Love the bike
One problem I have is there is an oil leal from the oil seal around the gear change shaft.

Any ideas on the best way to fix this?
I've had a quick look and it seems like I'd have to remove the engine and split the engine case :-(

Any thoughts would be great.

I think this is a common fault on Yamaha's as I've got a DT125 mk3 might just be an age thing as there both over 20 years old.........

could be a mashed seal from years of use like a bairing gone but that will be comming from the gearbox so make sure it dose not run low!

They managed it on my 125R so I'd have thought it's possible. Can't remember how it was done exactly but I think they tapped it on one side and kinda wiggled it out slowly.

Two options -

Drill the seal and pull it out with a self tapping screw.

Remove the clutch cover and pull out the selector shaft. Then yu can work on the seal without the shaft in the middle.
