Just bought new petrol cap and wont fit, can someone post me a pic of the underside of the cap plz

cant take a pic atm but im sure someone will. What cap did you buy?i know standard ones are about ?80!!

but i also know ones from a cbr 600 (dunno which year) also fit cos i got one on mine when my old one broke and that was ?12 from my local bike shop.

This One is the one that i got, exactly the same as the last but im now thinkin that they bent the actual tank rim that it goes on or something.

ah right. did you have your bike nicked then? thats what happened to my old one, had the bike nicked and when i got it back they had wrenched the cap off with a screwdriver and it was f*cked, luckily the rim was still ok, its not a perfect fit anymore but it still goes on and is sealed but if its too bent i dont really know what to suggest, you dont really wanna go bashing away at it to straighten it out (or rather curve it).....you might even need a new tank.

Everything seems to be ok with the cap so all i can think of is that the frame on the tank is mis-shapen. doesnt look it at all tho, the cap goes in but wont grab so pops off again.

get sum pliars and bend the metal in the fuel cap hole, have to try and make it catch unless u wna buy a new tank

yeah i am gonna have a proper go at wkend but to be honest it looks straight so dont know where to start. dont really wanna buy a new tank. My bike is pi$$ing me rite off! lol

rite if anyone buys the aftermarket petrol cap off bitzforbikes then it wont fit, it needs a piece of metal filing off and then fits snug. if anyone wants a pic, plz let me know.
