Sabre Sports Ltd in Essex are currently working on a line of items to improve the performance of the GPR125. Kit cylinder, New Head, Exhaust and a small mod to ignition. We will also be able to supply many parts for this machine.

Please note our modified Derbi GPR125 will be on the Derbi stand in race trim at the NEC Bike Show

I hope this helps and we will keep you upto date with progress

Come on guys didnt want to start a disput!!! We are tuning GPR125 parts for a race series next year so any other parts are not legal. The series is too be run at some BSB rounds too in conjunction with the ACU. We currently compete in the British 125 Championship with Luke Mossey and also compete in the Catalan Chapionship and Spanish Championship. From 1999-2001 we competed in 500cc World Grand Prix's so we do have some pedigree with 2-strokes.

Sorry guys, a couple of corrections. Firstly the Derbi GPR125 will be on the Dunlop stand at the NEC show. secondly I think the cost for the ACU Starcup will be a bit more than ?4000. Nearer ?6000 but this will enclude race prepared bike, entry fees, tyres, helmet, boots, leathers, gloves and a few other product sponsers. Here at Sabre Sport we are preparing the bikes for this series so we may have various items for sale to the public to improve power output.

Just on another note, do any of you Aprilia RS125 riders use the JL Exhaust? We work closely with JL and they do produce a good pipe for the Aprilia in a variety of styles encluding a double ended pipe, yes two silencers similar looking to a RS250.

Maybe some replies to my thread this time instead of an arguement!!!!

What sort of power outputs are you achieving so far, I'd imagine the flow of the stock route of the gpr exhaust would restrict it a fair bit, mick abbey can achieve a fair amount from the teezer lump, what other sorts of stuff are you doing to it?

the JL twin is a bit like old news on here, craig the forum owner is jl's main uk importer of pipes for the rs125 and holds them in stock.

any pics of the gpr's in race spec/what you've achieved so far type update?

suppose the new rules for the acu star are pretty good, BUT the way racing it going, how the f*ck are young lads (like myself and younger) supposed to get into racing when you need about ?6000-?7000 to get going with these new rules. As i have said for a while it isnt about riding talent anymore its about how much money u have to race/ buy into a team, it realy p**ses me off.

I fully understand where you are coming from. Unfortunately I dont have an answer to that either. didnt you get your name down for the redbull rookies cup? A chance for young riders to show there talent. Our rider Jamie Mossey has just got in. Visit www.redbullrookiescup.com. The biggest problem is any form of motor racing is not cheap.

When I come up with an answer I will let you know.

Unfortunately most of these "cheap" packages means you're paying ?1k extra when you could scrounge ?200's worth of cheap leathers together yourself

We had some early input / feedback on the original idea's of the GPR race series, and it still sounds like a crock of sh*t in my opinion

The only positive side to it is it's being run a some BSB rounds so more coverage, unlike the 675 and Gixxer600 cups (both 12k) which are still only MRO equiv level?

Just out of curiosity, will you be covering rear brake calipers under warrenty even though they're on race bikes? They ALL seize regardless in road trim, I've even stripped it down entirely and lubed it from PDI (pistons and everything) and it'll still stick and wear down pads horrendously fast.

And Gene Dalzell told me we were the only dealr to have problems
I have put 3 brand new calipers on 1 bike in 12 months.

Martin, where can I find up to date information on the GPR cup as it stands?

I haven't had much information on it since I left the PVG/Derbi dealership I worked at

Just been pricing up costs for next year in DesmoDue with New Era Superclub, just interested in what I'd excatly get for 6 grand, (i.e rounds, who with, free and timed practice?, tyres? bike?) in comparison to what I'm spending currently

That is us!!! My design and built 500. I rebuilt an older YZR from 56x52 bore and stroke to 54x54, 187bhp at the back wheel.

We then rented the bikes to WCM in 2003 for Chris Burns to ride.

They are now gathering dust in our collection of 500 GP bikes.

hi, i was too old for that red bull rookies thing or else id of gone to spain with them, however id of had no chance as i know a lad who went who said it was a pharse, the bikes were set up for 6 stone riders so it was like riding a chopper and u werent aloud to alter the bike in any way, the whole thing was biased towards the spanish lads too.

Sorry buddy, just looked at your website. do you run BPS Ignition? We are BPS, we designed and built the unit used on most front running 125's. KRP bikes run BPS.....UK1.... Steve Patrickson...Appleyard...
Drop me an email and we will help as much as we can.

I'm open to show off my "talent" lol, although I'm a bit big for a 125's I think, so I'm planning to go ahead and do a full season of DesmoDue again with New Era, reckon I can run up front now I have some track knowledge, after I got pole position at Cadwell it made me realise how much I'd been loosing out on by not being able to afford practice days

Will you guys be running a GPR team of your own then? Does the price include entries then? 4200 seems very cheap if it includes the prepped bike, entries and leathers
