Quicky... can anyone get me a photo of speedo-drive end of their speedo cable??

Mine snapped right at the speedo drive. Undid knurled cap... grabbed clump of wire (hardly any at all... less than a mm of wire - getting hold of is a royal pita) remaining and yanked... won't budge. Undid splitpin further down speedo-drive, unscrewed knurled thread, pulled on wire remaining, and got the entire worm-drive gear out of the speedo drive. On further strip down, cable is crimped directly to the worm-drive gear.

How do replacement cables come? Square pegged at each end, or square-pegged one end and worm-drive gear the other?

Personally never seen one with worm-drive gear crimped straight onto cable before...

Yup, you get a sleeved cable with square pressed ends. The worm drive shouldn't come out.

Hmmm... looks like someone's done a previous bodge-repair on this cable then and attached it direct to the worm-drive. Bugger. New speedodrive and cable req'd then

hello fellas
was going down the A1 and the speedo went from 70 to 0 in the blink of an eye. so now i am guessing how fast i am going. will it be just a case of a snapped cable? And where will i get one? i have emailed rob at mondo and theyre rarer than rockin horse sh*t on ebay. i have a 2000 evo and was told its the same cable as a prilla 125. is this true? thanks for any help

i got mine from ebay last week, paid ?15 for it, but yea rob has probly got a new one on the shelf, he has everything

but if i remember correctly when i phoned him he said that he was ordering them in from italy, dunno if they would of arrived yet though, give him a buzz....
