hi ive found a 1990 suzuki rgv 250 (2 stroke if people dont know lol) its a 1990 model needs MOT and tax but is in good condition hes wanting around 400-450 do you think thats a good price also whats peoples opinions on the bike itself and whats handling,acceleration top speed like e.t.c thanks

1990 is vj21. sound a good price if it dont need much to get through an mot. might wanna look into the service history and when it last had a rebuild etc. handling: never ridden that model personally but the later 2 models handle very well so can only assume it would handle ok. 0-60 bout 4-4.5s. top speed 125-130ish.

hi thanks do you know how much miles you get to a tank and how much oil they go through? thanks

dont expect more than 100miles to a full tank and 1lt or 2t oil every 400 miles roughly maybe less, im running premix on mine so im not really 100% sure.

il get the link as im having second thoughts now cause of the cost of running hes told me that the fairing has been resprayed when the last owner had it and that he has a couple of old MOT certs but only has one part of the log book but hes waiting for the full log book cause the old owner has sent it off

also he said the mileage he put on there is wrong its actually done 11,000 kilometers

i really like it aswell i think it looks tidy but from what ive been told prob couldn't afford the fuel and oil because id be using it everyday e.t.c so think il be buying my first ever four stroke instead lol

LOL Cheers Jonny, I think if I'm being realistic though a fixer up is something I've not really got the space or time for, I'm away all week atm and when I get home the weekend just flashed by!

Plus when we start looking for a house in the new year that's another time consumer....

No I think I just need to be realistic about setting a budget to get a nice, well looked after 2t

you ride a poncy vj23, not the thrash happy vj22.

thrash happy? you mean u have to thrash it to go anywhere fast on it. my "poncy" vj23 has a lovely midrange so dont need to be thrashed as much.

You ride the tame VJ23 because you dont have the poise, skill and throttle control to ride a bike that produces a decent amount of power, you have to rely on boring midrange without the proper 2 stroke kick.

I have obviously missed the post where i claimed to be a quicker rider than gixerboy1. Also having not seen both of us ride to compare, i dont think your opinion is very valid.
