today i went for a blasting round the twisties, and about 40 mins is, my arse and top of my legs kept getting quite hot, what could that have been?
the bike was running at about 95-100 on the temp guage, could it have been the coolant cap poped off if the water was boiling?
heat from the exhaust pipes?

i just hope its not major

ow yeah i noticed the other day, that there was NO coolant in the bottle!!! it hadbeen running fine on long rides ect...

check your oil. could be a gasket has gone and your boiling fluids.

the oil lights not on and it dose work...

i think the bikes due a big service, cam chain tensioner, cam chain, valve clearences ect... howmuch am i looking at to get the work done ?

Do it your self mate. Not hard at all, invest in the haynes manual

i couldnt trust myself with a 4t motor, 2t is fine...

id break somthing... might see if a mate whos doing motorcycle mechanics at college to do it

For a start, i dont think your bike has a cam chain?Dont NC30's have gear driven cams?

You have 2 exhaust pipes running directly below your arse, It does get VERY hot, enough to feel like your leg is going to catch on fire in the summer!

Thats where the heat is coming from, could always check your fans are working too (generally just let it get hot and listen)

fan also blows the hot air from the rear pipes, up near your balls and legs. its meant to do that mate.

well...iv come to the conclusion that my fan ent working! cus i just been for a blasting and had to stop at 3 sets of traffic lights and on the 3rd the coolant pot exploded ! p**sed all my coolant on the road and my rear tyre

are they fix able ? or do i need a new 1, how much might they cost ?

The oil light is a warning, you don't want to be waiting until it comes on to check your oil, checking oil, coolant, tyres etc should be part of a regular check, preferably weekly.

just checked me gear box oil...there aint a lot there, i couldnt get any on the end of the dip stick

but whats that got to do with the coolant bottle exploding ?

i think i needs a new fan?

Check the fuse for the fan 1st and all connections make sure they havent corroded and snapped or something...i found this quite common on my zxr as it was 16 years old...

Gearbox oil or engine oil? Are they seperate on the NC30?

If your engine is not properly lubricated then there will be more friction, if there's more friction there will be more heat...
