Right, fitted new exhaust, CDI CI626, TV-78, Intake removed, and jets done.

And still only around 70mph at a struggle. So its either the exhaust i bought had a european restriction or the RC power valve i think it is isnt working. So how do i check the RC valve is working?

Also i fitted a TV-78 off a pre 93 bike and just cut the wires.

Chain is a little loose but i never thought this could be such a problem?

Can i test this in neutral brian, or does the bike have to be moving?

Also, dont hear much of a noise when i turn the key (well from memory anyway).
just rev it up mate, you dont even have to do that look under the right hand side of your tank and just turn the bke on, if the servo (washer ontop of black block) turns then it works mate

also have you checked in the reed valve to see if it has a metal plate with a hole init? is that what you mean by air intake out??

and have you drilled out the exhaust restriction PROPERLY

The intake restrictor was removed when i bought the bike, Never checked the reed valve had a metal plate with a hole in it though.

Also bought a new (well second hand) exhaust as mine had the european restriction in it. looks like it was restricted at some point hand had them taken out.

right, had a look at the valves sequence and its not moving weather its at idle or about 7000+ rpm. Tried moving it manually bit it still wont move itself. Is it the unit itself or the TV-78 i've put in from a pre 93 bike. All the wires on the TV-78 i put in are matched up to the existing loom.

you you tryed cleaning the RC valve, if its crap and all carboned up then it could be stuck.

i think my mate gary may have a nsr exhaust, full power style, but looks rarther gash, will ask him tommorow

David silver spares or a local honda garage...about a pound...
so there was a plate the with a small 2 cm hole in it?? and is it still in there now? if so then theres your restriction mate

dont worry about jetting for now, when all the restrictions are taken out she should do 90mph+ then you jet it and up the front sprocket maybe and get a good 100mph+ maybe

if its doing 70mph then theres a restriction somewhere, if you change the jets its not going to gain a extra 20-25mph is it lol

huh? no the exhaust i have is derestricted if thats what your referring to as my old one had a european restriction (8 inches down pipe).

I found the problem any way. The RC valve is stuck on low and does move no matter what rev's i ride it.

Edit: also i have changed the jets already. But that was a restriction on european bikes. And no one said any think about the jetting being at fault? Its just to compensate for the new CDI/RC control unit/Exhaust/ and removed intake plate?

if your bike is a swiss import (serial number beginning by ZDCJC22E......) you probably have a shunt on the servo-motor potentiometer . this makes the servo immobilised . you should search where is the shunt in the black box on the left side of the carb

sorry i forgot about this . the strange thing is that even on french bikes the servo moves to open the valves , it moves uncompletly but it moves ! the restriction is made electronically by setting the opening reference value in the control unit at 4,2Volts instead of 5,25 on unrestricted bike . the consequence is that the valves open at 65-70% of their max . how it's done ? the potentiometer fixed on the servo shaft is feed with 8Volts (red/wite & bleu/green from the 4 wires connector) , the cursor (light green wire) act like an indicator and shows the valves position . if you take voltages from this one & the 2 others the sum is 8V . the blue/green & light green voltage is returned to the control unit (we will call it actual). the unit has a reference voltage (4,2v for exemple) which it compares with actual . if it's different , the servo will continue to move until the balance has been reached . all this process is independant from the engine speed . the other white/red wire (from the 3 wires connector) gives to the unit a number of impulses to determine the engine speed , and the unit feed the servo (white & black/white wires) under 12v with the + on the white or on the black/white depense on which way the servo must turn (it's a DC motor which reverse way if you reverse polarities) . hope that's help to understand valves working

Bike serial has JC22B01 so french right?
Is the cable round the wrong way (see pic below). Was like this when i got it. looks like the R/C unit is getting power. Going to try going for a ride with the valves stuck open. Also is it:
hi under 2k
low 2k-7k
hi above 7k on french bikes or is it reversed?
