I need to put in my new ignition barrel but uncertain how to get into the top yoke (where the screws are located) to do so. I know i will have to remove the large centre bolt and the two pinch bolts but do hi have to do the two side ones too?

What size spanner is the large bolt in the middle?

you will have to undo the allen key bolts at the sides, remove your bars and remove the two clips on the forks at the top as well as the centre bolt, then you can remove the top yoke to get at the ignition

you shouldnt need to replace the mounting bracket, just unscrew the two screws that go into the ignition then you should be able to remove it and whack on the new one

I measured the diameter with an engineers ruler.

The forks are secured on the bottom yoke tree. Just a case of taking off the handle bars and circlips, loosing the top yoke and wiggling it free. If it seems impossible to move out, try taking the forks off and moving both yokes in the opposite directions.

Rite, well, bought spanner, adjustable up to 29mm. Spot on fit, just cant get the bugger bolt to move no matter how hard i try. lol Maybe im just weak!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Don't EVER use an AJ on any bolt that you care about!

Get out there and buy a DECENT set of spanners! AJ's wreck things on a regular basis!

as karlos said, AJ's will be fine if you take care.

If you cant get the bolt to shift the spray a bit of WD40 on it then leave it overnight to penetrate. Should loosen things up nicely

Like I said... You're better off buying a decent set of spanners. The reason I don't like AJs is because if you don't get them the perfect size, they round the heads off.

FFS my key is stuck in the ignition barrel. the forks or something must be misalligned as the steering lock aint goin into the hole properly but ignitiona nd off were workin. went for a ride now its stuck in the on position. Had to stall it and remove battery so it doesnt drain. Honda said that cause they didnt fit it they wont look at it, bring in the ignition, but i know that its cause the forks are not alligned. The bars turn partially to the left but lot to the right

Strange one. Dont listen to Honda either.

Sometimes my key gets stuck in the ignition as well which is annoying but I dont use the lock though. Try wiggling it, on and off positions. Pushing it down to loosing it. If its at off and you push it down, it shouldnt move to on. Try some WD40 to lubricate the insides.

The hole for the steering lock pin might be damaged and that might be the reason why the pin isnt going in. Mines wont go in unless I force the front end to the left.

Yeah its a new barrel tho and not had steering lock on before. Just soaked in WD40 and will see when i finish work. The pin comes out v.slightly when key turned to on position so im thinking that its got stuck on something?

Thats the way the steering lock works, the steering has to be turned to the left to lock it, it isn't misaligned.
No. Mines used to go in without any force. I just had to have it turned to the left and it would lock. Now, I have to pull the whole thing and actually force it against the frame to lock it because some f*cker damaged the steering lock.
