OK, I'm doing what I hate most of all, and asking something that's a very close approximation to something i've seen asked before.

TZR250 YPVS kit. Apart from the control box. Will the rest of it work properly? (Servo motor, pulley cables, pulley wheel etc etc).

Anyone have a spare control box floating around too?

Got the lot for 25 plus postage, just need the control box.

I was chatting to a guy on ebay... Asked if he ahd the 125 YPVS kit, and he said no. He said he had a working 250 kit apart from the control box (think the 250 has it built into the CDI like the newer 125s did). He also said he couldn't guarantee it'd work on a TZR125 because he didn't have one to test it on. So I bullsh*tted a bit, told him the control box was the most expensive bit of the system, and asked if he'd take 25 for the rest of it as it didn't have one (he'd already said that because he couldn't guarantee it working, he'd do me it at a reduced price).

His answer was 'yeah, 25 plus postage' and it was a done deal!

yer, fecking un real just bout sums it up

nice one, enjoy it, i cant decide if mine is open or not!

i need to strech its legs abit first, but it would be nice if i guessed right before checking lol

OK, I just got offered a 4dl CDI unit. Will that work on the 3PC1? I know it contains the controls for the YPVS, but don't know if there's a difference between the 2rk/3pcX series and the 4DL in terms of how the CDI works...

Anyone with some advice please?

come on matey think about it, same lump aint it?

all the cdi does is tell the pv when to open and when to shut, ie when the powerband is there and when it aint.

AFAIK, due to it being the same lump, it should work just fine.

Wrong. The CDI controls the ignition. And the lump is slightly different. Different barrels and heads and stuff...

The YPVS control box tells the powervalve when to open


CDI actually stands for Capacitor Discharge Ignition... I'm guessing that's where some of the caps are stored
