Im going to look at a 06 plate DT125x what has only done 3000 miles, i think its still restricted and its totaly standard, i have 2 questions

1, when de-restricted how do they compare in performance to the RS125, mito etc

2, how do you de-restrict them

thamls
ur get p**sed on my mitos nd rs's but ur beat them off the lights for about 3 seconds but my bike beats dtx's and my bike only dose 90mph. if i was you i wouldent expect more than 85/90

oh and u derestrict them by replacing the blankin plate with power valve and u need to get a solnoid and some box i think u need to take snorkle off and replace exhaust

I would go for the dtx they are a much more fun and comfortable bike, also good for doing tricks on. These are a piece of p**s to de-restrict, if I amm right there is a reed switch in the back of the speedo clock which just pulls out (this restricts the bike at 60mph) There is some restrictions in the expansion chamber, you can cut it open and cut the restriction out but it is much better to get a market pipe to fit on it. Taking the snorkel off adds a little more power but mainly makes the bike sound better and I cant remember how the power vales is restricted because it already has the motor, i think it just needs Turing around. Oh and I think the manifold it restricted but I wouldn?t mess with that. They are a very cheap bike to run and a quite reliable, but if you do get one make sure it is always secures with the best locks you can buy as there are many c*nts out there that will want your bike

You what? Aint no blanking plate on a DT mate.

Derestrict the DTX by removing airbox snorkel and either hollow out the exhaust system or buy a DEP system. There is possibly a Green/Black wire around the headlight area which needs to be earthed out but I can't confirm this as yet. Powervalve is fine as is but might be worth checking that it is set so that the port is flush when in the fully open position.
