thats f**king crap. half the list is glancing at the item and not even checking it, looks like a mid range stage 1-2 service.

its crap, get a full stage 3 service for like ?350 and that includes fork oil/seals and valves

I would say it's that bad as long as that includes all the spark plugs, oil, filter etc. Alot of that list is just general visual checks, so is done when they're doing other things....on the off chance they can charge you more

Valves is the costly bit, it's a good 3hrs just get strip and check, plus a few more if they need adjusting/changing. Although the Brake fluid and coolant change ins makes it a pretty good deal as long as it includes VAT
That would mostly be a all-dayer.

i would never go planet bikes they are c*nts!! had loadsa trouble with them before, i cant think of anywhere else to get it done i thought drayton croft would be a good decent place as i seen them at mallory and thought they would be quite reasonable and do the job properly, i reckon they are all bout the same price for the same sorta thing unless i look at taking it elsewhere a bit further out if its a better price and a better deal but i wouldnt know of any other places!

Easy, do the oil/filter/plugs etc etc yourself and get them to check the valves, chances are they wont need adjusting so will be around 3hours labour. I'm taking the plunge and checking my own valves from now on, in theory it seems easy enough and the more I read up the more it makes sense.

seems a tad steep in all fairness ... and you can generally tell by the sound of things when you're valve clearances need doing, and if you use your bike alot, you tend to notice when it goes a bit flat for a carb rebalance ...

had a Honda WSB mechanic do my 15k service, was top notch

valves arnt thatttttt hard did them with my dad on his FJ1200 (didnt need anythink changing mind) you'll need a valve lifter as well if you do them yourself.

Im looking at putting some raceing valve springs onto the zxr when i next ajust them, idea is do as much as i can on the engine that i dont mind blowing up to gain experiance so far though its running better than ever

good point mate but id rather pay the money and have it done properly as 1. i dont trust myself and 2. if it all goes bang etc 2 weeks down the line i can sue
