automotive motor oils ARE NOT for motobike's, just in case IF some1 already bought automotive oil.

have a dig on Lougle Google as i dont know all the english words to explain it but:

Automotive oils are for Dry Clutch, hence they have all sorts of less friction particels etc on the oil. Those additives are harmfull for a wet clutch, especially on a high revving engines.

rev high, slipp the clutch alot and the additives that are slick make the clutch slip->get hot->cause overheating-> warp the metal plates-> and burn/glaze the friction plates.

the additives will d*ck into the friction plate as any oil does.

wet clutch designed oils have always additives on them that ADD friction, vice versa to automotive oils.

comprende ?

best gear oil ive used so far has been Motul5100 4T motorcycle 15W-50. because its the cagiva's original 15W-50 value and it defenitely made my mopeds rough gearbox very smooth. next im putting it to Cagiva's when my Agip is done.

me and a few mx racers at my club use automotive oil. weve been using vauxhall 10w-40 in my yz250 for years. Its cheap as sh*t. No trouble there. The bikes get ragged too.Tried castrol 4t in my supercity everyone on here has a hard on for and didnt like it. Had a small amount of slip at high rpm on changing up. So got the vauxhall stuff in now and its fine.

Anyone confirm this, as my gearbox seems cak ... been over 2000 KM since last change, i thought they were good for 5k ..

The dealer who changed the oil last time use their own supplier as it were ..i looked them up, seemed like some sort of specilist oil company, anyway lost the link and name ...

I'm thinking of going for the Motul 5100 recomended on here .. but don't know which one because of the above query ...

When it had the change last time the gear changing was much improved, although that did not last to long, will going for the high end synthetic mean better changes for longer, or should one just swap the oil more often ..

I have these 2 in mind ... 1 litre enough ,, >>
